I'm doing something a little different for this post.

The above link refers to the violence in Kenya after a recent election miscounting scandal. I didn't pick it for any particular reason, except as a reference to the event.
I thought back to the time of the 2000 election scandal, where Bush's victory was questionable.
I want you to comment on the following:
Why didn't Americans riot?
Do we lack passion? Or do we have more patience?
Or, is my memory mistaking me, and there were in fact riots? If so, I think the level of rioting occurring in Kenya is considerably higher than anything after 2000 in America.
I'm not going to say any more, I want to hear from everyone else.

I was watching this video, and Prof. Baghwati listed 4 elements needed in a democracy to avoid people going to the street:
People willing to take up your cause
An opposition party
An independent judiciary
An independent media
I think maybe that is why Kenyans rioted- they lack those things
